The so mask holds two technologies: micro-spicules that work the surface of your skin, and a patented piezoelectric complex that turns the pressure of your hands into a real microcurrent. No device required.
The so mask contains MGM-1, a patented self-generating mineral complex that activates the moment you press the mask to your face. Press firmly, and the minerals convert that pressure into a microcurrent across the whole mask.
Micro-spicules of naturally derived silica open temporary microchannels across the surface of your skin and gently exfoliate, so your skin is ready to receive what comes next.
Snow Mushroom holds up to 500 times its weight in water, for a plumper, more hydrated look.
A four-peptide complex works four separate pathways, for smoother-looking skin and softer-looking expression lines.
Niacinamide and Centella Asiatica work together on the look of tone, pores and redness.
1. Shake the sachet three or four times before you open it. The piezoelectric minerals settle in storage. Shaking redistributes them so the current runs evenly across the whole mask rather than pooling in one part of it.
2. Apply to clean, dry skin with nothing underneath. No serum, no moisturiser, no oil. Direct contact is what lets the current reach the skin, and anything in between reduces it.
3. Press firmly across your whole face for 20 to 30 seconds. Pressure is what activates both technologies, so this is the step to take seriously. Work across the forehead, cheeks, jaw and chin, and press rather than smooth.
4. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. A tingling sensation while it works, and for a while after, is completely normal. The micro-spicules and the current are both active from the moment you press. How strongly you feel it says more about your skin than about the mask, and some people barely notice it.
5. Take it off and pat in whatever serum is left on your skin. Do not rinse. Follow with your own serum or moisturiser.
How often: One mask whenever your skin feels dry, dull or depleted. Two or three a week for sustained hydration and texture. Or one a day across our 14-day protocol, and two a day on days 13 and 14.
Before your first one: If your skin is sensitive or reactive, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, patch test on your inner forearm 24 hours beforehand. Temporary redness, warmth or mild flaking can follow a mask, and it settles on its own.
In a two-week clinical study of the mask technology the so mask is built on, by the Korea Skin Clinical Research Center (20 women, twice-daily use), the number of visible wrinkles around the eyes fell by 20.14%, and the appearance of pigmentation, including freckles and dark spots, improved by 21.21%. On forearm skin, a single application increased hydration by 73.44%, and it was still 52.74% above where it started 100 hours later. Measured with medical-grade equipment. Every headline result was statistically significant at p = 0.000.
Dermatologically tested. Irritation tested in three independent studies, 90 participants aged 19 to 75 across various skin types, on formulas built on the same mask technology: by Dermatest GmbH in Germany to the ISO 10993-23:2021 standard, and twice by Semyung University in Korea. Mean irritation score 0.00, with zero reactions across all participants.
No added fragrance. No parabens. Protected by Korean Patent No. 10-2491573, available exclusively through so topical.
While pregnant or breastfeeding your skin can react differently than it normally would, so we recommend patch testing 24 hours before first use.
Every pack holds the same mask. Choose 4, 8, 12 or 16 masks for how long you want to be stocked, and wear them as often as suits you.
The Protocol is a way of using the mask, not a different mask: one a day on days 1 to 12, then two a day on days 13 and 14, built to come as close as possible to the conditions of our clinical study. 16 masks covers one protocol.

The so protocol exists because the clinical results behind the so mask were achieved under a specific, structured protocol, and we wanted to give you something that gets as close as possible to that experience at home.
In the independent clinical study of the mask technology the so mask is built on, conducted by the Korea Skin Clinical Research Center, participants used the mask twice a day over 14 days. The study recorded a 20.14% reduction in the number of visible wrinkles around the eyes and a 21.21% improvement in the appearance of pigmentation, including freckles and blemishes. Hydration, measured on the forearm, remained 52.74% above where it started 100 hours after a single application. Those results were measured with medical-grade equipment and were statistically significant at p = 0.000.
The so protocol gives you 16 masks over a structured 14-day schedule designed to bring you as close as possible to the consistency of our clinical research. One mask every day for 12 days and two masks on two days.
Continue using your regular skincare throughout. The so mask sits within your existing routine rather than replacing it. After each mask, pat in the serum left on your skin, then follow straight away with your own serum or moisturiser. If you use actives like retinol or a strong vitamin C, we recommend introducing them gradually and not on the same night as your first few masks.
The Protocol is a dedicated way to use the mask, built to come as close as possible to the conditions of our clinical study.
Includes 16 x 34g so masks.
MGM-1: our patented mineral complex. It generates its own microcurrent the moment you press the mask to your face, with no device needed.
Snow Mushroom (Tremella Fuciformis) Extract: holds up to 500 times its weight in water. Expect skin that looks plumper and more hydrated.
Copper Tripeptide-1 & Argireline (peptide complex): Copper Tripeptide-1 supports the appearance of skin renewal, and Argireline works on the appearance of expression lines. Expect a gradual softening in the look of fine lines with consistent use.
Niacinamide (confirmed at 118% of specification in the base formula): works on the look of tone, pores and redness. Expect a brighter, more even-looking complexion over time.
Centella Asiatica: calms and supports the skin barrier alongside Niacinamide. Expect calmer-looking skin.
The moment you press the mask to your skin, it generates its own microcurrent, no device required.
In a two-week clinical study of the mask technology the so mask is built on, with twice-daily use:
Microcurrent is a very low-level electrical current, the same idea behind the professional microcurrent facials aestheticians have offered for decades. The so mask makes its own: press it onto your face and the minerals inside convert that pressure into a microcurrent, with no device, battery or charger.
In a clinical study of the mask technology the so mask is built on, the number of visible wrinkles fell by 20.14% after two weeks of twice-daily use, and hydration was still 52.74% above where it started 100 hours after a single mask (measured on the forearm).
The masks can be used whenever you want, as long as your skin stays happy. To add a mask to your ongoing routine, take our quiz to find out what we recommend.
A tingling sensation while the mask is on, and often for a few hours afterwards when you touch your skin, is completely normal.
How strongly you feel it comes down to your skin type and how firmly you pressed, so some people notice it a lot and others barely at all. If it tips into uncomfortable, or it's still there days later, give your skin a break before the next one.
Your skin is electrically active: its cells communicate through tiny electrical signals, all the time. Microcurrent is a very low-level electrical current, and the so mask makes its own from nothing but the pressure of your hands. In a clinical study of the mask technology it's built on, hydration was still 52.74% above where it started 100 hours after a single mask (measured on the forearm).
In a two-week clinical study of the mask technology the so mask is built on, with twice-daily use, the number of visible wrinkles around the eyes fell by 20.14%.
Measured at up to 73.6 volts peak-to-peak by the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, from nothing but the pressure of your hands.
The hydrogel is packed with moisture-binding actives like Snow Mushroom and hyaluronic acid. In a clinical study of the mask technology, moisture was still 52.74% above where it started 100 hours after one mask (measured on the forearm).

Twelve masks is four weeks at three a week. If you'd rather give your skin a dedicated two weeks, The Protocol is 16 masks across 14 days, built to come as close as possible to the conditions of the clinical study behind our mask technology. In that study, after two weeks of twice-daily use, the number of visible wrinkles around the eyes fell by 20.14% and the appearance of pigmentation improved by 21.21%.
